All our work is carried out in accordance with the 16th Edition IEE wiring regulations BS 7671.

Heating & ventilation

Emergency lighting contracts
We install/maintain emergency lighting systems in accordance with BS 5266, the code of practice for the emergency lighting of premises. We also ensure that your existing installation complies with changes in requirements that may be imposed from time to time by keeping detailed records of your installation and arranging regular checks to be undertaken.

Fire alarm contracts
BS 5839 sets out the requirements for fire detection and alarm systems in buildings. However, the design of a system varies considerably depending on the type of premises to be protected and the level of protection required. It is for these reasons that we work with leading manufacturers to give advice and provide you with an up to date, efficient and reliable fire detection system for your premises.

Maintenance & fault finding
At present we hold the maintenance contract for properties owned by Western isles council this includes schools and domestic properties. This is a 24 service that we provide and can also include street lighting. Other contracts we hold are EGA which provides heating systems to premises in the Western isles and the isle of Skye. We are also the local Dimplex agents for the Western isles and also thorn lighting.

Testing & inspection
There is an obligation on businesses to ensure that all electrical equipment is inspected and tested to comply with the requirements set out in;

- Health and Safety at work act (1974)

Working in hazardous areas
Over the years Angus Morrison’s has completed many contracts in the area and we are also used by various companies for maintenance work in both commercial and domestic premises. We have held the electrical maintenance for Transco for the previous 15 years and our staff are trained and certified to work in flammable areas. We also carry out inspection and testing for local fuel depots.

Renewable energy installations
Recently our engineers installed a renewable energy system called Geothermal heating system 101. Geothermal heating systems, also called ground-source heat pumps, "capture" this steady supply of heat energy and "move" it from the Earth and through a home or building. Basically, once installed, a home or building owner will use much less energy, save money each month, and reduce the amount of pollution produced by fossil fuel systems.
